Dr. Lauren Chmielewski is a board-certified plastic surgeon whose practice includes cosmetic, reconstructive, and hand surgery. She specializes in body contouring procedures of the “core”. In particular, she enjoys restoration and enhancement of the abdomen, waist, and breast after pregnancy or weight loss.
Dr. Chmielewski was born and raised in Philadelphia. She attended Princeton University where she majored in Chemistry, Classic Greek and played Division I softball. While spending three post-baccalaureate years at the University of Pennsylvania she honed her Spanish language skills through study, volunteering, and living abroad. She ultimately decided to pursue her medical training at Case Western University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She remained at Case to complete a rigorous, six-year integrated plastic surgery residency under the tutelage of the world-renowned Dr. Bahman Guyuron.
After training, Dr. Chmielewski moved to New York City to join a busy, cosmopolitan private practice for three years and became board-certified. While serving a diverse population of cosmetic as well as reconstructive patients, Dr. Chmielewski served as one of the principle Plastic Surgeons at Jamaica Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center. There, she took care of a wide variety of complex reconstructive problems, working hand in hand with general surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, as well as others. This experience made her the competent, well-rounded surgeon that she is today.
Plastic surgery is a career that allows Dr. Chmielewski to make a positive impact on patients’ quality of life. Her driving force is the pleasure she derives in working together with patients to accomplish a common goal. As a positive, optimistic lover of life she draws her energy from new experiences, engaging with patients, and solving challenging problems.
Dr. Chmielewski is employing her skills and experience as a well-rounded, Spanish-speaking, board-certified, female plastic surgeon to create Harmony Plastic Surgery PLLC. Harmony caters to patients in the greater New York City area interested in safe surgery with aesthetic and well-balanced results.
